When we plan a trip, most of us have a map, hotel reservations and some idea of the adventure that lies ahead. The same is true for our education! We make a plan or find a curriculum, search for the “hotel” that will serve as our schoolhouse and have definite ideas about the outcome we wish to achieve.

But what if we didn’t?

What if we allowed a loose plan with plenty of crossroads and off ramps? What if we didn’t worry about confining ourselves to a schoolroom, and allowed for exploration in many different places? What if we didn’t conform to a strict idea of our outcomes and let our curiosity sit in the driver’s seat?

That’s what “CROSSROADING” is all about! It moves a learner through several, repeatable steps down a path toward deeper understanding of any subject by connecting that subject to others. This path sparks curiosity, but also allows that curiosity to flourish into unexpected discoveries.
